SAAL Alu-Dibond print

Phenomenal fine-art!
I have had the opportunity to review an Alu-Dibond Butlerfinish print of one of my images, supplied by Saal Digital. I received a 50 by 75cm print and the quality is nothing short of phenomenal.

Before ordering anything from the site, you have to download the free digital software which allows you to then design everything from books to prints. Having already created a photo book with their software in the past, the ease of the creation is very straightforward. The user interface is simple to navigate and there are templates to help you if you are creating something complex but the single print was just a few clicks to upload and confirm. Even though the file was over 10mb, it uploaded in seconds.
Dispatch was within 24 hours and it was couriered to my 48 hours later. It came very well packed, protected in extra internal packaging as well.

The brushed aluminium actually shows through the light areas of the image to give the image a lifelike effect. This would not actually work with all images (such as a family portrait, unless you are all silver robots!) but it works perfectly with this image. Using 6 inks instead of the usual 4 allows light inks to be used to further enhance the tone of the image.

The black in this Buccaneer image, taken from my ‘Aviation – The Dark Series’ gallery on here is critical to the success of the finished product. Some prints I have received from elsewhere have been a bit grey or too light but the black here is perfect. It really offsets the metal in the finished image, allowing crisp lines and clear contrast. The image appears to almost be 3-dimensional. It has turned a print into fine-art!

Overall, I would highly recommend Saal Digital. They keep you updated with the production and delivery, which is always handy if you are producing items to a deadline (or for a time-conscious customer). They are a professional company that produce a high-quality item to my (and my customers) exacting high standards.
